The cherry blossom trees were in full bloom near a "Hitachi Photo Spot" marker associated with the Five-story Pagoda of Rurikoji Temple in Yamaguchi. The Hitachi markers can be found at most scenic sights and their fresh, well-maintained appearance can contrast with the often ancient buildings they are promoting. Some sites have also added selfie-platforms to hold a camera allowing one to make use of its timer feature.
